Koshigaraki Plate

This beautiful plate is made with Koshigaraki which is a rough clay mixed with pebbles. When pebbles are fired at high temperatures, they swell and pop, or melt and become round. In pottery terminology, this is called "Ishi-haze" or "arare," and it is considered to be something to be admired and enjoyed.

Please note that due to the way the unique method used in the firing process, each plate will have slight variations in color and form.
